Maureen Jakubowski, trustee, and Joanne Zillman, deputy director and Youth Services manager, Batavia Public Library, spoke on “Born to Read,” a program designed to help parents of newborns introduce their children to books and to eventual reading. Batavia Rotary Club contributed $3500 at the launching of the program in 2009. Since its founding, 208 babies have benefited from this service.
