The Batavia Access Committee seeks the support of the community in its Annual Toy Drive, which benefits Batavia children ages 1 month to 16 years old.

Cash, gift cards and checks made out to Batavia Access Toy Drive should be delivered to theBatavia Police Station, 100 N. Island Ave. Donations should be made before December 7.

Last year, the parents of more than 600 children were invited to select age appropriate gift items for their children, including a large toy, small toy, book, puzzle, game, stocking stuffer and hats and gloves. Even greater numbers are expected to be served this year.

The giveaway is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 9 and is by invitation only. Additional distributions will occur through December 22 on an as-needed basis.

This effort to provide a brighter holiday season for Batavia children in need began nearly 30 years ago when six children came to share in the collected gifts.

The Batavia community has always been generous about helping those in need. This year should be no exception.  Additional information about the Toy Drive and distribution is available by email atbataviaccesstoys@gmail.com.
